Black Friday Mahem

9:17:00 AM

Black Friday. We all have heard the term, deeming the biggest shopping day out of the year here in the United States. I have never really understood the insanity that lies beneath Black Friday until this morning.

I have NEVER done the Black Friday shopping thing, but this year Morgan and I were hoping to get a nice TV for his mom and family as a Christmas present and saw an amazing deal on a 42" flat screen television for $298 at Target. The store opened at 4 o'clock in the morning so we figured we would wake up at 3 and head there. WRONG! When we came rolling into the parking lot at 3:20AM there was not a parking spot available in the whole lot and there was a line of about 1000 people wrapped around the building waiting to get in. Oh my goodness! I have never seen anything like it, it was like an amusement park.

INSANITY!!!
So we headed to Starbucks for a little jolt of energy, avoiding waiting in any of the line, and puttsed around Kohls for a bit (since it opened at 3AM) to waste time before we would head back over to Target. Once Target opened their doors we were able to find a parking spot, WAAAYYY in the back, and made our way like salmon down a stream of people. Of course there were no TVs left and the lines to check out were easily an hour long. Forget that! So we squeezed our way out and came back home to get some more shut eye. It is needless to say that I don't think that I will be doing any early morning Black Friday shopping ever again, but it definitely was an experience.

Childhood memories:

These pink cowboy boots at Target brought back some memories from my childhood
As a kid, one Christmas all I wanted was a pair of hot pink cowboy boots. When Santa brought them that year, I don't think my parents realized that they would become a staple in my everyday attire. I wore those boots everyday until I couldn't fit in them any more. I was a very eclectic child, seeing as my parents used to let me dress myself, nothing really ever matched, but what does match with hot pink boots?  Those were the good ol' days!

Doing some research now there are also Black Friday sales available online, interested?

Did you participate in Black Friday? Where did you shop and did you wait in line all night? Did you get what you came for or was it a fluke?
