US Foodservice Convention

10:20:00 AM

Wednesday morning I had the awesome pleasure of attending the US Foodservice Convention held at the Florida State Fairgrounds. With my love for good food, it was like I was in a little slice of Heaven. There were food vendors galore and not to mention the extreme amounts of sugary-sweet goodness that was there. And in regards to my dream of owning my own bakery, it was very informative and I was able to get names and possible information on vendors I may want to use sometime in the future. Hopefully sooner than later, but I am just going with the flow.

I have found that if you try to plan your life, evreything goes wrong and you end up angry and frustrated that nothing is going according to your "plans". But if you just let go of the need for control, you will find that things are a lot easier. Maybe you don't end up where you thought you were going to, but many times it is someplace better. Somewhere that you never imagined you would be and that to me is exciting. The only thing I know for sure that I want for my life is that I want to be with my wonderful fiance for the rest of my life, grow old with him by my side as we raise a family, I simply just want to live my life and be happy. I don't need to be rich and have a lot of things, I just want my life to have some sort of meaning and to be able to find joy and happiness in my time here.

It was a great experience and I was able to learn a lot about what you need to do when you are running some sort of food service, such as a restaurant, bakery, cafe, etc. Plus I got some great ideas for recipes to add to my stash. Tonight is looking like a baking night :)
