10 Fun Facts About Me

9:53:00 AM

I love that this blog is my platform to reach so many different types of people. To provide encouragement and walk through this journey of motherhood in a very real and raw way. So I thought it might be fun to share with you all some fun questions that people tend to ask me so that you can know me a little better.

Here we go. 10 random, fun facts you may not know about me:

1. What was your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school growing up was always math. There's something about having one correct answer to a problem that I liked and I really loved trying to figure out the puzzles. I still do.

2. What did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was little I was all over the place. First I wanted to be a singer, then a veterinarian. As I got older I wanted to be a dolphin trainer and then an event planner (which is what my Bachelor's degree is in). Now I do hair, so completely different than anything I thought I would do. But it really is my dream job. I love what I do so much!! I get to socialize, be creative and make people feel beautiful for a living!

3. Which skill would you love to learn?
I would love to learn how to play the piano or the violin. I played the flute growing up and can still hit a few notes, but there is just something about people who can play instruments that I am so drawn to. Music speaks to my soul.

4. Which language would you like to learn?
Italian. I took an Italian class one semester in college, but I would love to study it more. It is such a beautiful language and I love the culture.

5. Which task or chore is your least favorite?
I really dislike folding and putting away the laundry. I know that sounds so silly, but I have no trouble cleaning the dirty clothes, but folding and putting them away is such a nuisance. Although, my husband would probably tell you I hate doing the dishes, because I complain about them a lot. He is such a good sport!

6. What is your greatest achievement?
Obviously my children. Growing 2 human beings in my belly and giving birth to them, I don't think there is anything greater I can ever do in my entire life.

7. What is something that makes you happy?
I absolutely LOVE having fresh cut flowers throughout my house. I'm sure I spend far too much money a year on flowers, but there is just something about having them around that makes our house so much more inviting and feel more like a home.

8. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Whining. Oh my word, when the kiddos are whiny, it just makes my skin crawl. I have gotten so much better at dealing with it, but it is still the WORST!

9. What is one thing you absolutely want to teach your children?
I think the greatest thing I could ever teach my children is the power and love of Jesus Christ. There is nothing more important in my life and that is something I pray for them daily, that they will grow up to be Godly men.

10. What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear would be if something terrible were to ever happen to one of my children. They are my complete world so if anything ever happened to either of them I don't know what I would do.

There you have it friends. I hope you had fun getting to know me a little bit better. We all need to stick together and remember that we are a community. Of women, of mothers, of humans. And what an honor to do life with each other and use our lives and experiences to better one another.
